With the high
printing and distribution costs involved in publishing of books, people have
been searching for alternative ways. That alternative is Electronic Books. Because of the
ever-increasing use of Computers at home for business and personal use, and
because of the costs mentioned above, the writing and publishing of Electronic Books is becoming more practical. And with the internet
growing at an unbelievable rate, a perfect market for almost any imaginable
topic. So, what is an Electronic Book? A simple explanation would be to say that an EBOOK is a computer file (an executable - *.exe) that contains pages formatted. When the user clicks the executable file, a browser-like interface opens up with the book's cover page and/or an index (just like surfing the web!). The author can present to the reader a table of contents or a list of topics, questions or comments from which the reader can select, with just a few mouse clicks; and go to any site and access the desired material.
